This style cap was stock on 1978 and '79 Omni/Horizon models with the
VW 1.7 engine.
"Normal" 2.2liter distributor caps use a system with the electrodes built-in to
the spark plug wires and require removal of the cap in order to change
the wires. P/N 4106102 caps will bolt on to stock '85 and earlier 2.2 distributors
and have female snap-in style plug wire connectors which allows removal
of the wire without removing the cap. They allow you to use the Crane
Cams 8mm silicone plug wires that I have on eBay.
The white cap is cool because you can see it "glow" when you have the engine running in a dark garage.
